Went out to climb Valle Azteca last weekend and came across a route that was not in the guide book known to exist for the area... I'm guessing that it was a recently bolted route on the right side of the arete to the right of the Goat Crack.
Goes straight up the right side of the arete and has a really tough crux I couldn't work through at the last bolt before the anchors.
Does any one know anything about this route? it feels 5.11ish (possibly an easy 12 for the area).
I'm pretty sure few people from the states climb here, but I just thought I would ask.
Thanks

The route is called Hermafrodita and is a 12b without taking a rest on that huge block after the 3rd bolt, otherwise it is an 11d. you cant find it on your topo because it was settled recently by Mauricio Flores Goytortua on 2006. if you want more information about it or want to see some videos just send me a mail.

What guidebook do you use for the area?

The randy vogel topo is ok, but a lot of things have changed since that book came out. the new routes are by far harder and are not in the book.
