is it okay to put a page for a route that you've climbed, but don't know the name of or can't find the name of, maybe in hopes that someone on this site will tell you the name? I was thinking about posting a few routes in the Butte, MT area as "unknown" and give what I thought the rating was.

I'm not the Area Manager for Montana, so I won't say you should or should put the routes in the Database (although, with good descriptions I can't imagine it would be a problem), but if you would like to find out the names of the routes I would suggest posting in Regional Discussions (via the area in the RDB). People are more likely to see it, that's all.

I agree with sbaclimber. If you do post a route with name "unknown", please make the description clear and complete. Also, before you post it, check the existing route descritpions to make sure your route is not there already.
