is it okay to put a page for a route that you've climbed, but don't know the name of or can't find the name of, maybe in hopes that someone on this site will tell you the name? I was thinking about posting a few routes in the Butte, MT area as "unknown" and give what I thought the rating was.

I'm not the Area Manager for Montana, so I won't say you should or should put the routes in the Database (although, with good descriptions I can't imagine it would be a problem), but if you would like to find out the names of the routes I would suggest posting in Regional Discussions (via the area in the RDB). People are more likely to see it, that's all.

I agree with sbaclimber. If you do post a route with name "unknown", please make the description clear and complete. Also, before you post it, check the existing route descritpions to make sure your route is not there already. DDT
