This summer, I will be working in Florissant, Colorado and living one town over in Divide. I will be there all summer, from May 27 until late August. As such, I have a few questions: One question is about convenient local climbing and bouldering for after work. I'm already familiar with and have climbed at some of the the well-known crags in the area (Turkey, 11-mile, shelf, etc). The information I am looking for then is about areas that are very nearby for after work bouldering. Specifically, are there any bouldering areas in or between Florissant and Divide? I have heard about a crag called Twin Rocks, but hear that this is illegal/on private propety. Also, I am looking for climbing partners in the area. I will have two days off per week (I'm not yet sure what those days will be, but I will post that here when I find out). For days off, I'd definately like to find people to climb with at 11 Mile, Turkey Rocks, Mueller State Park, Shelf, Lost Creek area, etc. I'm mainly interested in trad climbing, although I also enjoy sport. I lead in the 5.10 range, but don't object to climbing easier routes or getting dragged up something hard. I've been climbing for six years; I have rack, rope, and am a safe and reliable partner. Post here or send me a message if interested. -Jon Moen

I actually live in Divide. Twin Rock is on private property. The closest bouldering would probably be in Woodland Park, Sheeps Nose or down the hill a bit to Ute Pass.
