Hi,
I am driving from Boulder to Mineapolis and would like to climb along the way, especially Pipestone and Blue Mounds.
As a geologist, I want to see the rock near Morton--the oldest in the US!
I am retired and can climb almost any time. I live in Boulder and am happy to take Minnesota climbers around COlorado.

you should jump your trip two or three hours north when you get there and come up the north shore

Hi, Lin. I'd recommend you also post this on http://minnesotaclimbing.com. You'll find basalt and limestone climbing within an hour of Minneapolis-Saint Paul.

The cliffs along the North Shore of Lake Superior.
Definitely, a different type of scenery then what you have back in Colorado.

I agree. If you're going to make the trip, you may as well go a little farther to see Palisade Head and Shovel Point. That alone will make the trek up here worth it.
They should be in your 'Rock and Road' book too if I'm not mistaken.
