I'm considering taking a job in Keene and was hoping to get a feel for the climbing scene. Is there local rock for after work/lazy weekends? Nearest rock gym seems to be Manchester, but is there a shop in town? Any other info would be great too.

Yes !!! EMS is there in town and EMS headquarters is 20 miles away in Peterborough. I usually do most of my shopping at Summers Backcounrty Outfitters
just down the street from EMS. Summers is an old mom and pop type shop. Years of knowledge and great to deal with. Yes there are a few local spot in the Keene area you may need help finding them but they are very close. PM when you get there I will give you the heads up.
