Was wondering if anyone has had any negative experiences here with the local law since they banned the DWS experience. Seems like the closure wasn't enforced last year at all... at least I didn't hear of anyone being fined here on the forums. So I was just wondering whats been going on so far this season.

The ban is still in effect and, despite what anybody else's experiences were, it's always possible to run into the ticket-writers mid-leap. Jump at your own risk.

That said, I have not heard of a single person getting a ticket. And I know quite a few people who have been renting pontoon boats and spending a day DWS. A couple people have been given warnings though. So as Jung says, jump at your own risk.

No one got the ticket last year because last year they were only giving out warnings, however, the law is now in effect so watch out... Either way though, they only have like two people boating around throwing out the tickets so its pretty easy to not get caught. Also, as far as I know, the actual police won't give out the ticket... or care for that matter, it's just these one or two guys you gotta look out for. And even if you do get caught theres still the loop hole of "falling" not jumping...

I think the real question is, whats the fine? $50.00 = ah fuckit, who cares. $500.00 = uh nevermind, wheres my rope. Up to $5000 is what is posted.

Well, back when they were still throwing out warnings the guy giving them out stopped by our boat and reminded us not to jump(he didn't actually catch us) and we asked him about falling... He said you can fall, but don't abuse that loophole. So basically, you could probably get off with a warning, but don't let him catch you again.
