Want to go up with some friends this weekend...anyone recommend walk-in campgrounds, or no a good stretch of national forest we can plot down in? tim

Every drunk, hobo, tourist, climber, and elvis impersonator is going to be in either north lake or south lake this weekend.

You're still far enough out ot book online for donner, but otherwise there's a KOA site off 80 near the indian springs climbing area.

There are also USFS Sites along teh Truckee River between Squaw and Truckee.
