Trying to look through the different area's of cochise stronghold and see if there's good sport routes. anyone know which area would be best? When I go I'm probably going to stay at the campground on the east side but that doesn't mean i can't climb on the west. east side would of course just be easier to get to from camp :-) Thanks

There are 20+ sport routes from 5.7-5.11 on the West side at a place called Isle of You. It is in the AZ Back Country guide. There is a mini guide which is probably easier to find in #59 of R&I. There is a campground area right below it and you walk to the cliff from it. Across the valley to the west is the Dry Canyon. Its limestone and much steeper than the slabby sport routes at Isle of You. There is a mini guide in R&I for that as well. I don't remember there being much below 5.11.

I think there is an area called the Isle of Me, or maybe the Isle of You...something like that. I never made it out there, because the dude I was following flipped his truck, while on the way, and had to get towed out. It was supposed to be sport climbing though.

Its Isle of You, unless Isle of Me is a new area. I should clarify about Dry Canyon. It is in a different mt. range. You can look across the valley and see the Dragoons.

But I'd guess it would be cooling down a little. I'm not sure what the elevation is. I would always visit in mid to late winter and it could be a little chilly at times.
