Hey all, I just got back from a trip up to the leap and was disappointed to find that they have started charging a camping fee for the campground. Now, don't get me wrong, I understand the forest service is hurting for cash and they have to pay for upkeep somehow, but it was a bummer that such a great free spot has gone the way of the dodo. Anyways, the climbing was still great so no real harm done.

What bummed me out wasn't the fact that they are charging, but that they are charging so much ($10/site/night + $5/night/extra car). I heard that they were going to start charging around this time last year and I was expecting somewhere in the $5/night range.
Oh well. At least there's plenty of free camping to be had in the surrounding area.
