Apologies if wrong forum....I was in Fayetteville [new river gorge] this last weekend and received a citation for what was supposedly an illegal U turm.. This was in the intersection just past the cathedral cafe heading towards Kaymoor....I'm pretty sure the cop was sitting there waiting for people to do what I did....so

Has anyone else been similarly cited there for U turns?

I pointed out that there was no sign saying this was illegal, to which he replied 'Just because it doesn't say so doesn't mean it isn't illegal."

This made me think so I've looked in the W Virgina drivers code and the WV legislative code 17C which appears to be the relevant section. Neither mention U Turns nor say that what I did was illegal....so I was wondering if anyone [possibly with legal expertise or otherwise] knows whether the offence needs to be defined for this to apply...or whether the cops are effectively allowed to make this up on the spot.

Second question - has anyone had any experience of disputing this in person in Fayetteville?

Thanks

Beagly77

Those cops enjoy spotting tourists and citing em for retarded crap. Works out for them, people come, get tickets, leave and mail the money in. FIGHT THE SYSTEM!!! :) Go Rambo first blood on em, just don't hurt the cliffs...or Rodger...
