Yeah, first you latch on to some famous climbing dude like Trash. Grab his coat tails and hang on for the ride! I mean it sincerely. <img src="http://myspace-427.vo.llnwd.net/01130/72/40/1130190427_m.jpg"alt="bumluck Ts">

Climbing Shirts for Climbing Bums |

Dude I was doing that in like my 5th visit to the gym, and now I walk up them like they are nothing. Did I mention, I have only been climbing for about a year too. Your best bet is to get into some comps and get to know some of the higher ups in climbing gear companies(Maybe even the owner). But even with recognition dont expect too much free gear, only the best get that. But if you start climbing above sport 5.14c, then maybe you will get lucky. I know one guy at my gym that climbs 5.13d, and he still has not been sponsored. Keep that in mind.

Hey everybody. So I'm still at it. I'm still not sponsored, yet... but I have been crushing everything in sight. I actually did send a couple emails to various companies (prana, la sportiva), but I didn't get a reply. Thats okay though, they'll be knocking on my door and lining up to give me gear. CLIMB HARD FRIENDS!

I've been srsly loling at this thread. best part about troll posts are the mass responses from people like me, who are at work and have nothing better to do than peruse climbing forums. keep them coming! I only have an hour left. haha.

The funniest part about this isn't the troll... it's the fact that it got resurrected by someone apparently with a serious response. Of some sort. Obviously not totally in english.

You are what they call a dime for a dozen my friend. I know plenty of climbers, or as I sometimes call them, heros, that do and have done some amazing things out here in Yosemite. And guess what? Theres no marching band at the bottom cheering them on. There's no free gear for endorsements. Usually, there's only an icechest full of icy beer waiting at the bottom in a bear box. It's a pipe dream bro.

My gym has lots of local comps and a couple gear reps there that I have talked to.
