hey guys...new in the area and an amateur climber, Do i need to built my anchor to top rope or there are bolts to set a TR....any other suggestions for the place???

There were bolts for toprope, but they got chopped. Use long slings on trees, and be sure to pad them with clothing or your pack, because once they're gone, everyone in NJ will be SOL.

agreed, the trees are good but not sufficient for some routes, I usually bring a 50 foot static line and 30 feet of webbing, that's enough for a lot of stuff if you don't have the gear. I also bring mid sized cams, pink/red tricams, and a set of nuts. and the usual slings, cordo, lockers, never had a problem setting up there. feel free to PM me if you want more info

if you Don't know how to build an anchor then you shouldn't be climbing. look into getting a guide. The bolts Did Not Belong they were right next to a crack that ate up gear. there are plenty of spots on top of the climbs to set up safe trad anchors. i would use the trees as a back up not your main anchor
