In the last couple of days I have heard the access fund mentioned a few times (mainly by rrradam). And I got to wondering how many of you are members and what other groups do you support. Or what other groups should we support as climbers.

P.S.
If you don't support any start with the access fund. It is doing great work for climbers.

RRGCC if you're in the area (Ky). ACC (for Canadians) has local chapters that deal with access issues and such. If you want to get involved, I have been very impressed with both of these organizations.

Thank you rrradam for pointing that out. I didn't know that it had been a topic already. So let me reiderate the second part of my question and completely drop the first part. What are some good groups for climbers to support? Besides the ACCESS FUND!!! Hope that no one got upset about me posting an old topic. If so, Sorry.

The ASCA (american safe climbing asociation) is a volunteer based commity that replaces bad bolts in climbing areas. I believe rrradam is a member so he would have more info for you.

I heard about it thru Climb Max, a local Mountaineering shop here...I joined the Access Fund...That night they donated all money donated to the Access Fund, to the red cross...From Sep. 11th.

P.S. thanks for the info links. I think sometimes it can take days to surf each and every subject from the past to the present...Lots of good info here at RC.com. Just not enough time in a day to suck it all in.
