Just curious,

one of our regulars submitted a fictional climbing story to our articles section and I was wondering what the general consensus was as to whether people wanted to see this or not.

Keep in mind that it would be clearly marked as being a fictional story and this would be a once in a while thing.

In the meantime, what we'd really love to recieve is all of your articles. Everyone has a real life climbing story, or some bit of climbing knowledge that I know you'd love to share with the world so go on and send me a private message if you are interested.

Climbing is a lifestyle and it would be great to hear from any of those that life the life rather than just always hearing about those at the extreme end.

I think that it would be great to have a fictional story or a fictional section. As long as it was clearly marked. There is a lot of art that is in the background of climbing. Things like photography and poetry. I think that fiction is just another part of it. I think that it is good anytime that climbing sparks a passion in someone to share something with the rest of us.

Absolutely, go for it. I've had the opportunity to read it already and it's extremely well-written none the less.

I'm a YES.

Ok, I'm thinking of a "Climbing inspired art" section. Stories and artwork having to do with climbing and the climbing lifestyle, all in one section so that it can all be easily found and kept together.

Oh yes! Ratstar is a very talented artist, I saw his painting of the gear, and of the carbiners and such. It was really great!

Oh, and I almost forgot, Fiend: Exactly how long would you expect to have this operation up and running? I am positive that many of us here at rockclimbing.com are anxious (especially me!! ) to see that in progress.

A climbing art section?!!! That sounds great. I sure wouldn't be posting anything there. But it would be great. I can't wait to see it.

Okelee dokelly, here we go.

Climbing art section:

http://rockclimbing.com/climbart/index.php

so far this will be the only link to the page, but we'll work on that later.

Adding stories is automated but to add pictures for now you will have to email them to fiend@rockclimbing.com and I'll add them manually.

ok, apparently there's still a little bug in here, and it doesn't seem to acknowledge that you are logged in when you go to this section, this is a flaw in the page, not your browser. As usual.....I'm workin on it

Speaking of climbing art, last year, I drew a really cool picture of a guy climbing. I drew it as though it were an add for some kind of 'hold' company (ex: pusher, metolius etc.) I think that I'm going to put it in there and see what happens.
