Starting in Phoenix... My climbing partner and I are looking for a good multipitch climb. No harder than 5.9. We've got 2 days to dedicate to this trip (so we can drive some distance to get to the climb). Anybody have any good experiences or suggestions? Thanks!

What's My Line, Cochise Stronghold. Well worth the drive and hike in.

there are a couple of fun lines on bark's canyon wall in the superstitions, the long lead is a fun one at 5.7+.

i reread your post and see you have two days so you should head up to granite mountain outside of prescott, or alternatively cochise stronghold. there are adequate guidebooks for both areas.

Thank you for all the info. I saw that Granite Mtn has some mutipitch sport routes too... so that's a plus. I will see if I can get the guidebook tonight at the rock gym.

Wow, I had no idea Granite Mtn had multi-pitch sport routes now. Since it's a wilderness, had to be some fast hand drilling. Are you looking for multi pitch sport only?

I won't be sure until I get my hands on the guide for granite mountain. What I saw about sport routes came from the internet, so who knows... you'd probably know more than I.

I would prefer sport, but only since my rack is pretty bare bones and I am pretty low on funds at the moment.

Do you know of any good sport multipitch routes?

There are bolted face climbs there but not what would be considered a multipitch sport route. I thought someone had bolted one lately. It could be true. If you want a multipitch 5.9, the nearest would be in Cochise Stronghold. Even then, I can't think of a pure 9 sport route. You could do Peacemaker, it's 10b with a little pro and of course a lot of new stuff Scott Ayers has been putting up.

you should go to the sedona spires and do some of there routes great exposure with very beautiful lines. mars attacks is a 5.8 with four pitches and around 600 feet of exposure and theres always super classic streaker spire. or theres always granite mountain in prescott. best granite in the state and best lines.
