Hi Everyone,
Been a while since I've posted... and climbed.

I'm taking a long weekend trip to visit my brother who lives in Gilbert, AZ in mid-December and I figure it's a great time to dust off my climbing shoes. I'm looking for a days worth of good bouldering V0-V6. So far I've come across Queen Creek, which looks promising, or Groom Creek, although that may be covered with snow...

Any suggestions? My brother is a newbie and I haven't been outside in quite a while so we don't need anything fancy.

Also, are there any places that rent out crash pads for the day? I'd rather not have to check mine. Wink

Thanks!!!
Eric

Queen Creek would fill the bill for a day out on the rock and it's the nearest place to Gilbert. Snow is hit or miss in Prescott/Groom Crk. You could visit there depending on weather for the day. As for renting crashpads, I have no info but call around to PRG and some of the other gyms/stores.

Thanks for the tips! Any suggestions on specific areas of Queen Creek to hit? Looks like Oak Flats may have what were looking for? Also, any access/ parking tips you have are appreciated.

Thanks again,
Eric

Parking isn't an issue. The first time I went there I spent a lot of time wandering through the maze of boulders looking for good lines. See if someone would be willing to give you a tour by posting in the Climbing Partners-Mountain States forum. Enjoy! The rock is sharp but a lot of fun.

Try the Maze and Binghamland for a great day of bouldering. They are near Oak Flat, access is an issue if you don't have a high clearance vehicle then you have to take the old highway there around the campground.

When you gonna boulder?
