i the only time i have decked was with a female belayer, but on the contrary, my current gf is a much better belayer than the majority of others that i climb with
It doesn't have anything to do with whether your partner is a girl or a guy. I've had guys belay me who literally scare the hell out of me and girls who I have been fine with.
I'm a big guy, so the only thing I'd ever worry about is my weight in comparison to the girl.
The only people I've seen deck have been female with a female belayer.
Also, the most dreaded belays I have ever received have come from women.
So who would you rather have belay you? Of course its better to look down and get a sneak peak at some cleavage if you aren't already hooking up with the belayer, but on a hard climb that you don't want to deck on: Would you rather have a man or woman belay you?
whatever. i trust my girl with my life. i never have to worry about a thing when she's got me on belay.
I've been belayed by my wife over 1000 times. I could care less how little the belayer is as long as I know they will take the hit and not pass out or let go. I have took wippers and pulled her into the wall many times. She has took some really hard hits and never even blinked.
The best single belay I have received was from a woman I outweigh by 30 lb. She jumped backwards off a ledge to keep me from grounding after a 30 foot whipper. Stopped me two feet off the deck.
But then again I will only climb with somebody I know belays safely.
And I'll probably get banzed for mentioning climbing in scummunity.
girls are lighter so they give softer catches and put less force on your top piece.
