Queen Creek is your best bet for sport climbing- about an hour east from PHX. There's not much in/around the city, you can find some bolts on camelback, lookout and the McDs but nothing to write home about.

ill second the queen creek-sweet place that has good free camping, 600 or so routes and a boulder or two as well. its an hourish drive depending on where you leave from phoenix. also if you drive a bit over two from phoenix you'll be at mount lemmon with more sport and good camping as well.

How much time do you have to climb while you will be here? If you have a day, I would be happy to show you around. Queen Creek is close, Isolation Canyon is a bit further. The Asylum is 3.5 hours away with some great routes on caliza.
