IT'S SNOWING!!!
It's a wham-bam week for sure. We've seen an ice storm with, still, a few hundered thousand people without power; a bone-chilling night or two; and today we've got a nice snow storm. Supposed to have another on Friday, but we'll just have to wait and see.
Mah koffee is on. I've had a cup already, but with all that white stuff laying around I'm definately all cracked out this AM.

Calcite will give the same impression when stained with manganese and iron.
When the calcite precipitates along a thin crack it will also be thin and translucent, looking like...
a side of bacon.
In fact, cave formations that have this appearance are called "bacon".
Don't have a pic handy and I have a 9:00 AM meeting. Perhaps someone can google one for us ?

Morning all!
School got canceled again today, YAY!!!!
It snowed a bit last night, and it is still going. The weather man is calling for freezing rain in the next few days. Yikes! That could be nasty.
Got to finish working on a World Studies project today. Almost finished with it. Just have to glue some stuff to a poster.
Hopefully this snow will continue and cancel school tomorrow. They are calling for a high of about 20 degrees tomorrow.
