My current boots suck so I need suggestions for boots that are warm and sturdy for carrying my gear and myself.

Actually, my winter boots are just a pair of full leather hiking boots by Saloman. They aren't insulated, but they are too warm for me to wear them during the summer. A warm pair of socks is usually all I need with them in the winter.

Whatever you get, too tight is cold. I had nepal extremes they are supposed to be warm but they were too snug so I froze now I wear thinner boots (mantra?) but I can get Possum fur (hollow like a polar bear and a pest) socks inside and wiggle my toes a bit. I am much warmer. I like leather as it is so easy to re waterproof and durable. Not that cold here though only -10 at winter.

I've been looking at Sorels. I tried on a pair of furry boots and loved the fit, especially for my arches (over-pronator).
