How easy would it be to find 2-3 campsites very near one another in Hidden Valley on the first Sunday in March?

We'd probably get there 2:00-3:00 AM, or we could spend a night in a hotel and then find a campsite later on Sunday once the weekend warriors have packed up.

We're thinking of reserving a group site elsewhere in the park, but being so close to the climbing obviously has its appeals.

i think your second option is the best for you....when i go out in april we ususlly get a big site that is large enough for 4 tents and theres another one right next to it also....the site is right infront of the toe jam bearded cabage think that the formation is called old woman not 100% sure on that part but the routs i am sure on

you'd be better off reserving a spot somewhere else. finding ONE campsite at hidden valley is tough enough.

Sheeps Pass is a good bet, so is Indian Cove. Tons of climbing close by to both places. Here's the NPS reservation site:
