Hi everyone, You probably noticed that we're experiencing problems today and that RC.com has been down intermittently. We're working on the issue and will have a more complete report once we know more. On behalf of RC.com I apologize for the inconvenience. DDT

Gossamer Threads, our hosting company has given me a long and technical explanation that I mostly don't understand. Suffice to say that the entire server crashed and was taken offline for repairs for a little more than two hours. I'm sure nobody is thrilled about this, but I assure you, I'm far less thrilled than you are. More when I have it.

That's between me and Gossamer. Here it is in a nutshell. Apparently, our dear hamster was the victim of an old bug that popped up once or twice in the distant past, but was never tracked down. (This is most likely not the same problem as [ulr "http://www.rockclimbing.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=2051218;sb=post_latest_reply;so=ASC;forum_view=forum_view_collapsed;page=unread#unread"]this, which we believe to have been fixed successfully.) This particular bug generates a database query for something that, basically, cannot exist. Efforts to track it and kill it are underway, as are discussions on how to protect against this in the future.
