Some 'neser at the gym was critiquing my technique and told me I should "climb more Japanese." WTF??? He proceded to explain that one should never climb straight on, but should instead throw a back step, drop knee, figure-4 ... you name it ... into every single move one attempts. He then showed me how it's done. It was interesting ... if you consider making 300% more moves than necessary "interesting". I asked him, "What are you, fucking french or something?" but he didn't seem to be insulted.
I'd like to see someone ice climb "more Japanese", because I think it would hurt.
