I'm planning on heading out to Mt Arapiles and camping solo in the 'Pines' Campground, probably from July 1 -22nd. I know it will be cold, but if I come with a rope, rack, a nice jacket and some positive energy, will I be able to find some folks to climb with? Just in general, are there usually people camped out this time of year? Thanks for your help.

Arapiles is a great climbing destination. We went there once, only for a few days and are planning a trip for this December (my partner is Australian so we have an excuse to go). I would try posting on chockstone.org, which is the Aussie equivalent of RC.com for a partner.

You're one brave puppy! It really does vary year to year how much rain Araps receives during winter. Expect about 50% of your days to be rain and all of them to be cold. You will find few climbers there in July, but there will be some nonetheless. If I were you, I'd fly to Brisbane and spend that time in SE Qld climbing at Frog and in the Glasshouse Mountains. Beautiful weather that time of year!
