So I'm looking on taking a climbing trip before school starts up in the fall and am wondering where the best places are. I'm living in the Bay Area, but I am willing to travel. I don't have the budget to buy a trad rack, otherwise I would definitely be hitting up Yosemite. Any good places for multi-pitch sport?

If you don't limit yourself to roadside cragging, check out Shuteye. It's not all sport, but there's plenty of it, and somewhat adventurous in nature. Be prepared for occasional mixed routes with gear required in places. Some multi-pitch.

If you're looking for a sport climbing road trip from the Bay Area, consider Clark Canyon, Owens River Gorge, Tuolemne Meadows and areas nearby.

Shuteye ridge. No doubt the best sport climbing in the state.

Check out pangea at the lost world on sonora pass. (4 pitch 10c) I think there might be another two pitch sport route there as well.

There's tons of good sport climbing at red rocks, a bit of a haul from the bay, but not bad.

As other posters have mentioned, Owens, Clark canyon, Tuolumne, and even Yosemite has some bolted climbs (and top ropable cracks).

There are actually a lot of good sport routes around Lake Tahoe, but they are spread out, here and there. Donner has some good ones.
