I'm new to climbing but it seems to me there would be quite a few bouldering problems in the Calico Hills area (the areas along the first two or three parking areas on the scenic loop), but I've yet to see any mention of them on the internet. I only see the area mentioned for actual climbing routes, not bouldering problems. Am I just an ignorant noob ?

There are quite a few boulder problems in the Calico Hills of Red Rocks, some rather outstanding. There is also a wealth of bouldering in the canyons of Red Rocks. Check out the photos on snellpress.com The new guidebook, available on the site or at Desert Rock Sports in Las Vegas will get you where you want to go.
