Back when I was in 7th or 8th grade (‘87-‘89) I watched a climbing video with a guy in Yosemite that takes a fall and pulls a bunch of gear out of the rock, if I remember right he’s setting rivets for pro when he falls. This was before Masters of Stone and I’ve seen the first 4 so I know it’s not that. There was more in the video but it was like 20-23 years ago. Any ways this was the first video I ever saw about climbing and I was trying to find it. I know this is vague but I can’t remember much about it and I tried a Google search for climbing videos in the 80’s but I didn’t find anything.

I don't think that this is the exact video but it is close to what you are describing. If you start it at 7:00 there is a part where Dan Osman falls and pull a lot of gear out of the rock! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kBy4Op2niw

Thank you but that's the tribute to Dan Osman from Masters of Stone V. What I'm looking for would predate any of the Masters of Stone videos. Also Dan cut through the slings to make them brake but the video I'm looking for he blows out some rivets and other pro. Great video though thank you.

Here is a pretty sick video of Ammon taking a fall and ripping out a couple pieces. Not the one that you are looking for, but its a similar subject. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY1lNAEzZP0

I think it’s MoS II he does it. He wants to take a full rope fall but is not sure about it so he figures the slings being cut will slow him down a little. He then goes on to do some amazing jumps but that was his first, as far as I can remember.
