I lost my shoes somewhere at the 'Gunks this weekend: sportiva katanas with my initials near the toe on each shoe. We were climbing near Thin Slabs, Middle Earth, and Bloody Mary, though I swear I clipped my shoes to my bag. They could have fallen off anywhere. Is this my lucky week?

I've had shoes unclip twice in my life. Strange, but it happens. Maybe if the biner nose is caught on the thing its clipped to, which obviously makes it easy to catch and release..... I'm sure your shoes will show up soon enough. Call the Visitor center and let them know, too.

I remember seeing a pair of, what Im pretty sure were Katanas, clipped together on a carabiner and set on a rock along the Carriage Road. Looks like someone found them and put them there to be claimed. I think it was Saturday evening. Hope this helps.

I saw what I assume was them Sunday morning. There was a pair on a boulder along the carriage road clipped together with a 'biner. I assumed someone had found them at the cliff above and left them below to make them more visible. They were still there around 11AM when I headed past on the way out. Maybe someone can grab them for you, or perhaps a ranger picked them up if they stayed all day...

somebody just posted at mountainproject.com saying they found some "climbing gear" near Uberfall. She said identify it and you get it back. Take a look over there.

Sweet, thanks guys! Those are the shoes. They had a biner on them. I'll check MP.

Greg, At around 630pm on Saturday evening, I definitely saw the shoes you described clipped together, sitting on a rock on the Carriage Road at the base of Sixish/Bloody Mary, etc... I hope you get them back!

The climbers there this past weekend were good.
