I plan on taking a trip to the southern part of Illinois, where would be the very best place to do some choice climbing? Where is the best place with the most array of climbing?

Check the "Routes" section of this website, click on North America, United States, Illinois, then scroll down the sections of Illinois to find "south". Depending on what level of climbing you're looking for, and whether it'll be leading or TR, some areas are preferable over others. Briefly: Cedar Bluff and Draper's Bluff are within five minutes of each other, and have very easy access for TR, in addition to a large number of climbs of varying levels of difficulty. They both have a good amount of trad and sport climbs, from 5.5 on up to 5.13+. Jackson Falls is a little further east, and has mostly harder sport climbs (some trad, some easy, but not much). Cedar and Draper's Bluffs are also much easier to navigate, get right to the climbing, easy to get around, and easy to match to the guidebook (Vertical Heartland). Also, I don't know how you would find out unless you clicked on my ID, but I am a volunteer hostel participant (if I said that correctly), able and willing to provide information by email or rockclimbing.com PM. Feel free to contact me.

I just checked at "Illinois", and at the top of the sections, there is a link for checking hostels. Unfortunately, I am not listed, apparently because I live in Missouri (St. Louis). Maybe this is something that can be fixed.
