The best regional climbing will be in western VA (TR and single pitch) and a little further in WVA (Seneca, New River Gorge...). You can also make it to NC which has great climbing in several locations. Look at a map, check the route database, and then decide how far you want to drive. All those locations are within a 4-5 hour radius of Richmond. Richmond also has a good indoor gym. Will you have a vehicle? It will also be useful if you introduce yourself and tell folks something about type of climbing you're looking for and your level of experience. Buena suerte!

Well, I'm a 5th year medical student and I will be in Richmond doing a month clinical clerckship, I started climbing a year ago, in Torino, Italy, because i was there studying, and I continued climbing here in Cordoba. So I'm just a beginner, but I would go out also with more experienced climbers, so I can learn from them. Bytheway, I'm about 5.10a-5.10c (in Spain, 6a+/6b), and I just do Rock climbing, with the robe and all the stuff... I also want to do psycobloc and maybe I will do in early July in Almeria, a city near to Cordoba (I hope so, because last week I broke my ribs and i'm not so good.. :S) I won't have a vehicle, i will stay one month! I also like beer and go out after climbing so we can have time between us and share experiences... Thanks for you reply! see you! Ricardo.
