I agree!!! However I am not aware of any full-page ads on rc.com. If this is indeed the case I will get it removed as soon as possible. Can you (or anyone else seeing it) please give me details of the ad... where and when you see it, what is being advertised, etc. A screenshot would be even better. Thanks!

If I see another one I'll take a screen shot. I can't remember the ad, unfortunately. And to make matters worse, they aren't coming up often. I've been cruising the site a lot the last 2 days, and I've only seen 2 so far. If you really want to find the culprit, it might help to put a front-page notice up. I remember reading one other poster complaining about them popping up while trying to post......

adatesman wrote: Not just you, I got one earlier today. Figured I had spyware or something since this machine is a bit clunky, but if you're getting it too perhaps not. I'll keep an eye out as well. I am running firefox on a 2 week old macbook....somehow i doubt i've got any spyware running at this point....

adatesman wrote: Yeah, that sounds unlikely. My guess is its a particular ad with a roll-over full screen popup as I've been on here ~16 hours/day for the past couple days and only seen it once. I kinda remember it taking a moment to pop up and it did not open a new tab or new window. Its close box was definitely not a standard close button. I want to say it was something odd (for RC) like a car or deodorant or something like that. that's pretty much exactly my experience.....

Yea. I had a similarly frustrating experience....tried to get into the latest alien thread, and the same picture of some dude playing tennis popped up....by the time i remembered, loaded the screen capture program and hit the button the thread was up

I had one about tennis a week or so ago. Something about how it is tennis month and to watch tennis.

OK, there's a distinction between a full page ad and a roll-over expandable ad. Can someone confirm if if these were just roll-over expandables? I've also seen the "roll-over to expand" ads.

I've also seen the "roll-over to expand" ads. like Aric said. it was NOT the expandable ads. i click on a thread from the FP or from the recent posts page, and after the old page is gone but before the new page loads an ad comes up.

OK, we've found the ad on the ad-server and blocked it. Let me know if you see it again... or any other full page ad for that matter. DDT
