Ok, my girl was at the sport doctor guy today getting her IT band fixeded from a running injury. While she was talking to the therapist he said that IT injuries were really common in climbing. I haven't ever heard climbers complaining about their IT bands. Is this common? My only friends are all climbers and I hear a lot of other problems but never the IT. Just curious as to what other people think of this guys statement. Kind of bothered me.

maybe that is what my problem is! Seriously. I have spent more money at the Sports med doc, in the last year. Trying to figure out why, lateral movement in my "hip", which this article you pointed out also is a problem area. Kickboxing manuevers(sp) like side kicking or even in climbing, like froggy(?) or inward hip placement, just kills. What do the doc's say to do? They told me, after all kinds of x rays, and tests, that I was just not built limber in the hip(flexors). Yoga helps...lots. But, still pain exists. Hmmmm, T

I've had bad ITBS for years, gave up on the treatment(s). Not doing anything seems to be the only thing that eases the pain, I won't accept that so I end up doing the things I love, running, climbing, biking, skiing, skating, and put up with it. Went to docs, massive anti-inflammitory, PT, stretching, ice, heat, acupuncture, everything short of killing a chicken and waving over me At this point in my life it's just a dull pain that I don't even notice unless I think about it, I'd probably miss it if it were gone. Sorry for the bummer post, Jeff (buying a new body when I win the lottery).

My girl went for Active Release Technique therapy. She noticed a huge difference after one session and is going for the second (and probably last) session tomorrow.
