Hello,
I want to get a pair of Five Ten Mocassym climbing shoes, but since no stores near my house have them available, I have to order them online. I wanted to ask about 5.10 shoe sizing, since I've only had a pair of Mad Rock Mugens, and my street shoe size is a 9.5. What would you recommend for 5.10 shoes?
Thank you

the moccs stretch like mad- my guess is an 8.5, but others will chime in with better ideas.

It is really not in your best interest to order shoes that you haven't tried on... you will probably end up regretting it. Having said that, I think REI has Mocs on their website, so you could always order two sizes and return one to your local store. They ship to the store for free.

I think it's safe to downsize 1/2 a size from your street shoe for a 5.10 Anazazi... I can't comment on the Mocs. A lot of people seem to like them here... have you read all the reviews you could find to see if people have commented on the sizing? They probably stretch a bit more than the Anasazi but I'm not sure.

PS I've read they aren't great for edging and may not be good for your only shoe. If you are looking for a high performance all around shoe, check out the Anasazi.

i dont know about the mocc's as they are leather so they stretch some more. However, i currently use the 5.10 Galileos (sp?) and have a size 11 (i wear a size 12 street shoe). So for me 1 size down works well.

I suggest you order a couple different sizes and try them on as everyones feet are different. You can just send the others back for a refund.

i'm size 9.5 and i bought my first pair at size 9.5 and they were good to start but got a little sloppy by the end of their life. I bought a second pair at 9 and they seem to be pretty good so far.

Moccs stretch like mad. I sized down from a 9.5 to a 7.5 at one point. 8 is also ok, but even these can get a little sloppy. There is definitely pair-to-pair variation, so I wouldn't suggest buying them through the mail. Also (for me at least) I need to buy them in the morning, as I've bought a pair that was very snug after a day of climbing and the next morning they were sloppy. (Feet swell during the day, in other words.)
