Just posted a V2-ish problem I found while visiting Salina last week. Got freakin ticks on me! Not used to that in AZ.
Anyway, check it out and let me know your thoughts. I estimated a V2 because there's one similar to that in Northern AZ. I like the shredded look to it so I called it Shredded Wheat due to your wheat growing also :)

You might want to change this post to Arizona instead of Kansas.

Sorry for the AZ references Crazy I think this area has more potential and I was only there for 2 hours.

I hope you don't think you're doing first ascents at Rock City. People have been messing around on those boulders for a very long time. Regardless it is an interesting place to visit for a few hours.

I haven't been there for a few years but I recall a nice face in the general area you described for Shredded Wheat. It has a good low ledge and another smaller ledge straight up near the lip of the boulder. It's called Wiper (V2) and is the only problem I know of that actually has a name at R.C.

I'm not trying to steal anyone's thunder, just thought this place has potential so why not start posting up some problems? If you think it's called Wiper then by all means ask to have it changed Cool, no issues here.

No worries about thunder stealing. I didn't name Wiper and all those sandstone marbles were climbed way before I first went there.

The issue with naming problems at Rock City is that most of it wouldn't even merit a V0 grade, there's very few independent lines so anything harder than V-easy requires off-routing holds. IMO the bouldering is too contrived to justify attaching a name to any particular problem. This is why none of the bouldering at Blue Mounds in SW Minnesota is named, the problems lack individuality and are V0 or easier (except that nasty overhanging problem on the Quarry Boulder).

If you want to start adding problems (and all the variations) to the Rock City database have at it. Wink

Nope, and I don't remember that little boulder. Maybe I should head down there soon and "refresh" my memory of the place. Cool
