I'm just wondering the closest location to Hickory/Lenor where there are some decent climbs in this area. Most of the mountains don't seem to have open cliff faces, and I'd hate to have to drive all the way to Asheviille or Crowders.
Thanks!

Linville Gorge!!!! You surely know of Tablerock unless of course you've been living under a rock and in that case welcome to our world. Go drive up to Tablerock and walk the ridge toward Shortoff and find the cliffs on the left known as the Chimneys. You can set up a toprope there. There are many other areas in your area you just need to do some exploring. After all, that's what climbing is all about anyways.
