The kettle is on to make some tea, and the Mr Coffee is bubbling away doing whatever it does. I woke up at 7 and can't get back to sleep - I can't wait to go to Canada! I've been drooling over pictures of the Bugaboos for as long as I've been climbing (in fact I believe a picture of them was on the FP when I first signed up for this site, or very near that time), and I leave for the airport to catch a flight to Calgary in about an hour. Anyways, the bacon will be ready shortly, and if someone would grab some fresh doughnuts from the bakery, that would be great. Good day all.

I'm gonna rinse my mug out - I'll be right back for a top up.

There's a fucking garbage truck parked outside making a very high pitched whistling noise. I'd like to set it on fire before I go deaf. Anyway, I helped some friends make cherry wine on Saturday and drove north to their parents home to store it. Last night we made about four gallons of blueberry wine out of ten pounds of sugar and ten pounds of blueberries.

So I walk outside the back door of the building a few minutes ago and get bombarded with the worst sensory overload I've had in years. The contractor who takes care of ridding us of documents is here with their super shredder box truck. And it was going full tilt when I walked into the mayhem. Paper dust flying about in little vortexes consuming everyone who was within a 50 foot radius. The screeching shrill of what sounded like 30 industrial shop vaccums stuck to the carpet (that extra high-pitched sound they make when overloaded) deafened me and caused a slight headache. The ground was shaking from the vibrations made by the shredder in the back of the truck. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee rooooomph. BANG BANG BANG. Holy crap!

I just got back from the rodeo at Cheyoming. I've never seen pedicabs so well received in my life, and the stack of cash in my pocket attests to it. And I'm retired now. I won't be working again on that infernal bike, it's over, behind me, someone else's curse. Gonna climb and play all month, I won't be able to fit a trip to squamish in before I move but I'll have plenty to do here. Once I am finally working again, I'll be working in Bermuda. Coffee me I suppose, or I might just go back to bed.

Magnus, have a safe and fun trip. Macherry, you have a safe trip too. As far as noise goes they just shut down the bulldozer here. They are getting the yard ready for the house. Ya'll have a good day.

One half of the new house is setting beside the basement. The other half is parked two blocks away. They will put the two pieces on tomorrow. I still feel a bit funny. There is excitement and apprehension. This is a big step at this stage in life. Talk about sticker shock. I am paying 7 times as much for this house as I did for the one we live in now. I have already written checks for the down payment etc. for more than I paid for the one we live in. We bought the other one in 1977 though. I can start getting social security in 3 months and the house payment will be about 55% of that. I think we can live on my pension and still have money to travel and climb. My wife has about 9 months left to work. I may be the banker for my house. I have a cpl that want to talk to us about buying our house but have some credit problems. We shall see. Things will work out.

I can't sleep because it's too fucking hot! Enjoy the Bugs and I hope the fickle weather cooperates. I have some friends headed that way but you may be gone by the time they get there. They're going in a couple of weeks.

*Raises his glass to everyone about to go on epic's* Magnes, glad to hear you get to put some icing on your America cake... Angry... I drop my gf off at uni sometimes and see the only pedicab here riding up a massive hill, always think of you Glad ya scored some good dosh to enjoy Squamish. As for me.... Only five more weeks left here at work. FOR FUCKIN EVER!!! Five years of pain is now coming to an end. Then off on the first part of my climbing journey, Two weeks in Castle Hill bouldering (probably in the snow??) then another week in Paynes Ford climbing some class limestone.
