I want to make everyone aware of a great upcoming event on September 19th and 20th. The event, Climb Up the World is one of a series of events under Climb Up So Kids Can Grow. These events are to raise public awareness about pediatric AIDS and to raise funds for the American Foundation for Children with AIDS. The Climb Up the World event works similar to a walk-a-thon but there are no geographical boundaries. This means that you can participate in this event where ever you are. When you register for the event you let AFCA know where you will be and what challenge you hope to accomplish. Challenges can be seeing how many times you can clear a pitch in a set amount of time, how many veritcal feet you clear, or accomplish a several mile hike. By talking with friends, family, sponsor about your challenge and that it is a fundraising event and you are raise funds for children with AIDS. Donations can be made via check or online (make sure to have them put your name in the memo area). There are also some very cool prizes for top fundraisers such as an Osprey backpack, mountain Khaki pants, etc. All the funds raised go directly to providing medicine, food, and medical supplies to children, caregivers, and pregnant mothers. With this medicne children can grow up and make changes in their communities and mothers have a great chance of giving birth to and AIDS free baby. As part of this event I will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro along with 8 others helping to raise funds and public awareness. Take up the challenge and join us in having fun and helping a great cause. for more information and event registration visit www.climbupsokidscangrowup.com. There are also links there with more information on AFCA.
