Hmmmm, never been to Cambodia but I was pretty good friends with a strong climber from Phomn. She never mentioned climbing in Cambodia. Got the feeling that there is still an issue of landmines once one gets off the beaten path. Be careful.

We had a great time in Cambodia. Spent a day at the crag about an hour outside Phnom Penh on Highway 6. Have posted photos of the crag in the Cambodia section. There's an English language guidebook - Rock Climbing in Cambodia (2007; available from Chessler Books) as well as a website www.rockclimbingcambodia.com).

Does anyone know if there are any good bouldering spots near Phnom Penh? Day-trip-doable?

Some good boulders exist in Kirirom national park south of Phnom Penh. The journey would be a long day trip but worth it because the boulders are at a higher elevation and the cool breezes of Kirirom is a good respite from the heat of P. Penh. The area is adjacent to the kings old palace (just a chimney remains) and the eco tourism station. Look for boulders on the higher ground. This area is filled with gigantic spiders so arachnophobes beware! Hope this is helpful. Benjamin http://www.RockClimbinginCambodia.com
