It was just a little crisper this weekend in the deep south, and it means fall is right around the corner: splitter blue skies, pumpkin stands, apple cider, and TRIPLE CROOOOOWN

Registration for 2009 Triple Crown is filling up early this year! Go to www.triplecrownbouldering.com to get a piece of the action before its too late!

Check back to the site often for a monthly series of videos called "The Beta" to get the move-by-move hose-down of a Triple Crown problem from a friendly local. First one is up and you can watch it in HD on the site or here:

WHAT IS THE TRIPLE CROWN?
The goal of the Triple Crown is twofold. First and foremost, the mission is to raise funds for two organizations dedicated to maintaining climbers' access: the Southeastern Climbers' Coalition and The Carolina Climbers' Coalition. These two organizations have been instrumental in the acquisition of land for the climbing community, in a region that is riddled with access issues. Secondly, this unique event will once again provide a tremendous opportunity for vendors to promote the sport of bouldering, which has quickly become the focus of the ever growing climbing community.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE? Triple Crown is a series of bouldering events at three of the premier boulderfields in the Southeast. The series kicks off in the fall beginning with Hound Ears in Boone, NC, moves on to Horse Pens-40 in Steele, AL, and then concludes at the Stone Fort in Chattanooga, TN. The dates for each event are set for October 3 -- Hound Ears, November 7 -- Horse Pens 40, and December 5 -- the Stone Fort.

You can register for the event as a series or for any of the individual comps. See the registration page for detailed information. Register as early as possible, space is limited and this event fills up FAST!

Please excuse this shameless self-promotion... but I hope this is a good forum to get the word out that Adrenaline Climbing is holding its 5th anniversary SendFest on Sat, 09/26. This is the weekend right before Hound Ears, so I'm hoping climbers in and near Atlanta will come to our house to play as a warmup. $500 cash purse in Open, and all profits to the S.C.C. We're launching our own blend of coffee, called "Bolder Boulder Blend", and btw a sweet 5th anniversary t-shirt. More info and registration online at adrenalineclimbing.com
