Me and some friends are hoping to take a climbing trip somewhere, either winter(late december/early january) or mid may. we live just outside chicago. we are looking for someplace thats not too cold at that time of the year, and wont take more than a day to drive to. any suggestions

What are the preferences of you and your friends? Sport? Trad? Lead? TR? Bouldering?

Did you find somewhere to go? I'm going to be in Chicago in March and would like somewhere to boulder/sport climb (preferably not a gym), preferably within an hour or two of the city. Anyone have suggestions?

your best bet is going to be southern illinois. its a bit of a haul, but great bouldering, and the weather is much better than up north. thats about the clsest, other than devils lake up in wisconsin.
