Anyone know any current makers of solid leather ice climbing boots? I'd like to find something like Kastinger's ice climbing boot, something that's worked from one piece of leather--absolute minimal seams. I bet there're some European companies I don't know about. Ciao, Nick

However if you want to go total oldschool it will be hard to get something. Meindl has some really oldschool hiking boots. With strapons you could use them on ice. qwert

HanWags. German made. Some leather models like Omegas GTX have minimal stitching. The Quasar has a bit of leather and Cordura but less hardware low on the boot. Real good for Alpine!

What size foot do you wear? I have an old pair of Aslo's that I never use and would sell cheap.

LaSportiva... They are superb, Ive had my Nepal-tops from the year after they were first launched. Was that 97? anyway, they are expensive and an odd color but they are so good. 1 piece antifibo leather, rough side out. If your on the Ice you will need a decent toe rand or the boots will be gouged up. Toe and heel welt for clip in crampons etc. I lived and climbed in Europe for 30 years and the top are all italian boots, check out scarpa for a slightly narrower, rockboot feel - for a more traditional look how about the Liskamm and the Manta has been around decades. Try as many on as you can. for me feel is everything. Good luck.
