I'm going to Tofino on Vancouver Island next week for work and was hoping to get some bouldering in on my down time. Is it too late in the season? What are my options?

Bring a large tarp, a lot of towels and a blow torch... or go surfing. (I didn't know there was any established bouldering or climbing around Tofino)

A friend of mine recently helped build a small gym in Tofino. I think its called the Alternative. They'll probably know where the good (and dry) stuff is. Based on the rain in Vancouver right now though...plastic it is!

Thanks, I'll probably just hit up that gym since it's going to be pretty wet. Thanks again for the recommendation.

Did you find any info on climbing/bouldering around Tofino?

Years late on a reply but bumping this thread... If you are mobile, a 2.5 hour drive east through Cathedral Grove (ancient growth forest) to Horne Lake is absolutely worth the time. My understanding is that climbing routes are considered closed but the bouldering, caving and picturesque scenery in the area is worth the trip. Otherwise, you're in Tofino, so surf!
