Greetings from the New River Alliance of Climbers and the New River Gorge! We’re putting out a call for volunteers to help on Saturday, November 14, when we and our good friends at the NPS are looking forward to making large dents in two main projects:

1. Re-vegetation planting at Junkyard Wall and Bridge Buttress. This is the project for which Kenny Parker’s bald head raised in excess of $1500 dollars back at the Rendezvous. Come be a part of what Kenny’s hair purchased!
2. Remove the remains of the old wooden ladders from Endless Wall. The wood that used to be our access to and from the crown jewel of NRG climbing will be recycled into the new Fayetteville free-ride park. It’s a historic moment you won’t want to miss!

We’ll meet Saturday morning at 8:30 am at Burnwood (where the Rendezvous is held), then divide into three groups and conquer. Please bring your own food and water. Questions? Feel free to email NRAC Prez, Gene Kistler (gene(at)waterstoneoutdoors.com).

Please come and help out, and then climb with us in the beautiful November weather!

Thanks!
The NRAC Board

Never been to Rendezvous, but climb at the new pretty often now. Where's Burnwood?
Also, if I can't make it at 8:30, where can I be of most help at around 11am?
Thanks

Yo 1,
If you were, say, on the Bridge from Fayetteville, you'd wanna make the very first left after crossing the Gorge. The very last right, if you're coming from the other direction. At 11 am, I would say show up at either Bridge Buttress or Junkyard. Looking forward to seeing ya!

Oh, what the hell...

... I'm in.

Cool

Now, I don't want to hear ANY excuses from the locals (local = east of the Mississippi River.) If I can make it to this shin-dig all the way from Denver, you can damn sure drive up from North Carolina, over from Ohio, or down from Connecticut.

Yes, I'm talking to you, Clamhead, Lena_Chita, Doc Feelgood, Mark, et al.

I'll even see to it that j_ung buys all the beer. How much more can I offer? Laugh

Thanks everybody who came out! We had a huge group and banged out almost 100% of the scheduled work before noon. Special thanks to Mark and Robin for building that bench at JY. It was the most comfy I was all day, and it probably adds a star to Jumpin' Jack Flash, which previously had none. Bravo! Smile

This was a fantastic time, with a great group of folks. And I concur: Robin a built a great bench, and Mark helped. Cool

Also, I gotta throw some props to j_ung for his amazing hospitality. I'm indebted to ya, Jay, and you're welcome in Colorado any time.

D'oh! Just saw this.

You're most welcome, Jeff! It wasn't all my hospitality, though. That's just the way we roll here: show you such a great time that you end up living here. It's part of the master plan to slowly and methodically build a voting bloc sufficient to take over the local government. Smile
