So i have a quarry in my town (auburn,al) and its got a couple faces that are climable but the quarry is really really really deep. I dont wanna climb it with leads cause apparently quarry rock is very unstable so my option is top rope. I have 2 60m ropes and im sure that the height of the quarry is more than 30m so is there a way to tie two ropes together to increase length?

No need to tie two ropes together belay from the top:

1)Tie the climber in.
2)belayer must be anchored at the top of the climb, lowers climber to the end of the rope...just tie a huge knot in the end of the rope so you can't lower the climber off the end of the rope. Now you can climb 200ft and not just 100ft.
3)climber climbs back up, belayer is at the top and just takes in slack.

Option #1: belay from the top (as already mentioned).

Option #2: let's pretend you have a blue and red rope. Tie your two ropes together and put the blue rope through the master point/biners with the knot against the biners. The red rope will go down to the belayer and the climber will tie in on the blue rope where ever the rope meets the ground, not on the end.

OHH...I almost forgot...you should actually seek out someone that knows what they're doing to show you how to do this...otherwise you're going to die.

Thank you, the advice here works. But to the OP, if you don't know how to tie two ropes together, Something tells me I shouldn't trust that you have an understanding of the anchors needed to use this advice.

Slingshot TR with two ropes? That's a *lot* of rope stretch. One full rope can give you 25' of rope stretch, with two ropes, you probably don't want to fall the first 40 feet or so.

This is not an answer to your question but ...

If it is unstable, have someone teach you how to belay at an anchor from above. Otherwise, even top-rope climbing could release man-killer boulders onto the below belayer. Still, climber is not immune.
