BEAUTIFUL! I've got 10 days in the west fiords in early january! Question; what's the surrounding area and approach like (generally) that time of year? In terms of snowfall, wind km/h average nightly low in celsius. I know this is a mad over generalization but should i be expecting 30 cm or 3 m of snow that time of year? Any good guide books you can point me to? Appreciate it, thanks.

There is no way if telling how the weather will be. Sometimes we get rain in January. So you can expect anything. Now there are good conditions. In this link you can see how it was last weekend. http://isalp.is/umraedur/7-is-og-alpaklifur-/9373-klifur-dagsins-oshlie.html if you send mail on isalp@isalp.is as you are getting closer to come. You can ask about the conditions. Because i will be in Canada climbing. So you can be expecting 3m or 30cm of snow. Im not sure about guide books. might be some about the area. But none about ice climbing. Got some friends planing on going next weekend. I will post a link to the pictures if they go.
