Red Rocks, I was just there over Thanksgiving 60s and sunny. Cheap flights into Vegas. Rad sport routes, and awesome multi pitch trad. Nuff said. Hueco and Josh (sometimes) are also good winter destinations. Otherwise, take up ice climbing or snowboarding/skiing. Or take up video games!

Dude! I'm in your state...power to Rhode Island!! I'm going to my home country: ECUADOR , in 7 days. But we can go climbing if you want when i come back in January. I also haven't climbed in a while, but I'm going to climb 16,000ft + mountains, and some rocks, so that should do it. Seriously, we should meet at RIRG sometime or something. ~peace~ Esteban

michigan sucks. unless your an ice guru. and even then it still sucks. unless you like "big girls". but the climbing here is disasters. The best part about michigan is its surrounded by good climbing..lol just have to drive 6 hours to get to it.

I agree with rockpossum. You should be half way to Arizona by now. Get out of there. Utah's nice too - year round climbing. Hardest part about this place is deciding whether not to ski, bike, climb, snowboard, hike, kayak, etc. etc. You can even scuba dive, wake board, hang glide or even golf (barf) here. What other incentive do you need? I left N.C. almost 4 years ago for this stuff and am loving it.

If you want hard cracks, YES you can come to Tucson... then head on down to Cochise. Things are nice and warm down here right now. I climbed wed. thur. fri. AND sat. over Thanksgiving weekend! EVEN with the rain... which is rare in these parts. This weekend is shaping up to be beautiful. Come on down! And Lilred... Why hook up with an east coaster, when you've got plenty of AZ climbers up for the challenge?!

Red or Climbsomething... hmmm... I think I'll just explode trying to make up my mind God just think about it... lying in the sun with the smell of coconut oil and perfume wafting through the air, feet tired and sore from climbing, hands toughened on desert sandstone, hummingbirds buzzing cactus flowers from this years twenty-three minutes of rain last night... Man I need a vacation! Dang girls... blow ol' Krusty a kiss from the belay huh? Jeff

Or you can just do what I do.... that is buy a plane ticket every other weekend or so to escape the misery. It's really convenient that flights from Indy are so damn cheap. $180 to Phoenix pretty much whenever I want. Of course, you can only do that so many times before you realize it would just be cheaper to move there and get a new job. Hey lilred, if wink won't take you up on the offer, let me know.

dude, quit your job, it's not worth it. Go out there, hook with SUPER-FLY honemamas (like climbsomething and her crew), sip Trader Joe's merlot and partake of the finest herbs while admiring the amazing sunset, the brilliant cliffs, and the dream climbing partners. quite a nice picture. No job is worth ongoing misery. I know. I've stayed miserable for a while and then taken the big plunge (with a family to support) and survived. And got happy again. Arizona or Zanzibar. You gotta get to where you're gonna be happy. Because pretty soon you're gonna be dead.
