Not yet from what I am told. If it comes in at all like last season, it will be fucking fantastic….

Im in NH now, the ice in the notch is starting to form and 3 weeks ago the first assent of the season, Panicle on Washington was done , though it was mostly mixed…

One of my mentors always said to me," you need 3 things to be a good alpine ice climber".
A high tolerance for pain.
A bad memory.
I don’t remember the third….

Haha, I love that quote.

I have to say, it was quite the experience seeing a grown man reduced to the mental state of a upset child after following one pitch of grade three ice... I now choose partners with a little more care.

we only have some patchy ice on some of the summits in the higher peaks, nothing is in yet as we have had a really mellow fall/early winter here. Ian at Adirondack Mountain Guides keeps the conditions updated on a near daily basis over on NEICE for future questions.

Unfourtunatly we have had 3 consecutive real winters here in the North east with full snow cover from late november through april. that pretty much gaurentees that this winter is going to be warm brown and wetUnimpressed
