Recently your comments inspired me to buy the anasazi does the model matter. I mean the velcro or the lace up. I want the velcro for ease of use would this effect climbing performance? Do I want to use the lace ups for a more precision (sp?) ? And does anyone know where in SLC (or close) I can but them I dont really want to order through mail cause sizing. Thanks for the help.

I haven't climbed in the lace up but they are pretty different shoes, the lace-ups are way more technical and high performance than the velcros, check out all the pics of hard climbers doing their hardest sends, most of them are wearing the laceups.
Mostly you can crank them way tighter and I think they're constructed slightly different in order to support the laces. This difference keeps them from stretching as much as the velcros.

Yep for crankin hard/performance stuff, the lace ups have definate advantages. I have the velro ones and they seem to operate pretty well. They do everything I ask them to. the unfortunate thing is, because they are synthetic leather and have a coating over the lining, they stink to high heaven. My feet are probably worse than most, but after one route I can't take off my shoes without making people sick. I was thinking of buying some Boreal Zen's and using the 5.10's strictly outside!

Deffinately go with the lace-ups! 5.10's velcro designs aren't exactly the best out there. Any 5.10 lace-up compared to velcro will last longer (for me any who)

I've had no problem with ordering online or through catalogs; they all seem to very good about returning shoes if they don't fit and have not been used. Try to find some of the same brand, if not the same model, at a store to try on for size. The websites and catalogs are sometimes (frequently!) cheaper. www.extremesports.com, www.barrabes.com
