Last night David Tisch, a very frequent climber in the Gunks, passed away last night in a car accident.

Last time I saw David it was a scorcher. Sunny, 88 degrees with 90% humidity and he was wearing that exact same merino shirt and long pants. Might have even been the day this picture was taken. We were all cramped on the GT ledge below easy o.

I remember being amazed that for being so obviously physically uncomfortable, his attitude was super positive and he was a riot to share the ledge with. I'll pour out a little tonight in his memory.

Rest in peace, David.

No word yet on when/where the service will be. David was a Gunks regular who had a big smelly dog that looked a lot like him. I enjoyed loooooooooong conversations about climbing, life, and the climbing life with Dave. He'd hang out at the ranger truck with me when he did not have a partner. Condolences to his close friends and loved ones.
