Repost from NEIce There was a bad leader's fall on the ice climb Crazy Diamond at Lake Willoughby up in VT. A fall was heard, but by the time other parties got over to investigate, no one was there. A large amount of blood was found on the ice, along with a lost ice axe, screw, cordellette, and various other pieces of gear. If you are the owner of that gear, you can e-mail mike_bauman "at" hotmail "dot" com - he has your stuff. Whoever you are, hope you have a speedy recovery.

Shit. Hopefully he/she/they didn't just wander off somewhere in a confused daze.

According to NEice, it seems like the owner of the gear has been located and it is en route back to the unfortunate climber. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!

His tool placement sheared through the ice while he was placing a screw and he went for a ride. He got bashed in the face by his hammer as I understand it. No tomfoolery, just bad luck.

quiteatingmysteak has earned a month off from posting in A&IA. For those who may have missed it, please read this before (not) posting lame jokes about the injured.
